City Timelapse - Cartoon Clouds and Distant Skyline

The timelapse above was created using a HD webcam housed on a roof in Camden Town, London - note the full moon rising above the cityscape towards the end of the clip. An image was grabbed every 5 seconds to create the movie. The movie was processed using the 'Cartoon' option in After Effects. Compared to the original movie (embedded below) it notably picks out the distant skyline. If you pause the movie then you can see that single images work well, as a timelapse we are not quite so sure but its an interesting test, the original is below:

High Definition Cloud Timelaspe: July 4th 2008

Our high definition cloud timelapse system installed on a roof overlooking the London skyline seems to be working well. Capturing at 1600x1200 pixels every 10 seconds we collect approximately 9000 images a day which are then processed at 30 frames per second to create a timelapse film in high definition.

Music eine neue welt.

The movie above represents our second test timelapse for July 4th 2008 - there are a few issues with the odd frame jump towards the start but these should be ironed out for future movies.

High Definition London TimeLapse - Weather

We have set up a new high definition timelapse system overlooking London's skyline to record London's weather. Running via a specially waterproofed Logtech Quckcam Pro 9000 we capture an image every 10 seconds at up to 1600 x 1200 pixels.

By running the images at 25 frames per second it is possible to obtain high definition video of the last days skyline/weather - our first sample can be viewed in standard resolution below via YouTube:

The weather was mainly overcast but there is a nice clearance towards the end if the movie (around 3min 32 seconds) and the first dawn section is quite nice.

If people are interested we will post up more examples as well as the full resolution video for download...

London Clouds Daily Time Lapse

To cut down on the large number of posts the daily time lapse movies would create we are going to group them all in this section (so bookmark this section if your interested). The updates are still experimental but fingers crossed in the next week or so we will have automatic updates for every ten minutes cloud time lapse movies and a regular post of daily movies.
