Two Posts Available at CASA: Lecturer in Advanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation

This is an early 'heads up' on two posts at CASA to be advertised in the New Year. CASA, home of Digital Urban, is expanding and we are looking for two lecturers to teach on our MRes in Advanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation course. In short, we are looking for highly skilled and motivated individuals with a good publication track record. If you fit the bill then applications will be open in early 2011, after all what better time to sort out the CV than over Christmas….

CASA is an international research centre developing state of the art computer technologies for applications relating to urban spatial systems. These currently embrace methods for spatial representation such as geographic information systems (GIS), computer aided design (CAD), and visualization using multimedia as well as methods for simulating urban form and structure which build on a spectrum of geospatial techniques from standard GIS through to spatial modelling, visualisation and crowd sourcing. CASA forms one of two specialist research centre’s in The Bartlett, UCL’s Faculty of the Built Environment.

We are looking for two outstanding lecturers to contribute to the forthcoming Masters of Research in Advanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation (ASAV). The successful candidates must be highly skilled and very committed, with interdisciplinary and international experience as well as successful publications in peer-reviewed journals.

Title: Lecturer in Advanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation

Department: Centre for Advanced Spatial Analysis

Reports to: Head of Department
Grade: Grade 8 (£39,510 - £46,635, Inc. London Weighting)

Main purpose of the job:

To carry out research, teaching and administration within the Department, especially in the areas of urban modelling, spatial analysis and visualisation forming part of the MRes in Advanced Spatial Analysis and Visualisation (ASAV). Candidates will be expected to hold core skills in Geographic Information Science with a research background in urban studies or city related subjects.
